Cooper Creek Growers began as a hobby in the early 1950's. William and Hattie began selling tomato plants to local seed and feed stores in Denton. It became a business in 1958 with William leaving his job at Texas Woman's University. The market expanded into Dallas Ft. Worth and the surrounding areas with the product line increasing. Quality has always been important to the Rainey family as well as variety. Bill and Tom Rainey, William's sons, now operate Cooper Creek Growers. They still strive to provide quality bedding plants, color and foliage hanging baskets, patio pots, and poinsettias.
